About ISO 9001
ISO 9001 belongs to the ISO 9000 family of standards which are concerned with quality management. ISO 9001 specifically relates to the requirements for an organization whose business processes range from design and development, to production, installation and servicing.
The ISO families consist of standards and guidelines relating to management systems, and supporting standards on terminology and specific tools, such as auditing (the process of checking that the management system conforms to the standard).
