Senko Debuts Fiber Checker Video

May 23, 2013 - Marlborough, MA - Just released, SENKO Advanced Components, Inc., the leading manufacturer of fiber optic components headquartered in Massachusetts, posted a new video of the Fiber Checker operating procedure on Senko’s YouTube channel.

The video is just over three minutes long and shows you the main features of the Fiber Checker. Visitors to the Senko’s YouTube channel will also be able to find more information about the Power Meter, and the Light Source.

By using the Fiber Checker, refraction of the 650nm red light caused by any breaks and or cracks in the fiber will glow red; thus giving an exact visual location of the fault in the fiber.

The Light Source is ideal for field or laboratory testing of optical communication systems at 850 nm / 1300 nm for datacom testing, 1310 nm / 1550 nm / CWDM 1270 nm~ 1625 nm ( 20 nm spans ) for all WDM testing, as well as 1490 nm for FTTx testing by using interchangeable SFP transceiver modules.

The Power Meter measures power in both 850 nm / 1300nm (Multimode) and 1310nm ~ 1625nm (Singlemode) respectively.
