SENKO Licenses SN®-MT Technology to Lightera to Expand High-Density AI and Data Center Connectivity Ecosystem

Agreement broadens industry availability of SN®-MT connectivity and strengthens supply chain capacity for next-generation AI infrastructure

HUDSON, Mass., September 15th, 2026 — SENKO Advanced Components, a global leader in fiber optic connectivity solutions and pioneer of Very Small Form Factor (VSFF) technology, today announced that Lightera has entered into a licensing agreement to manufacture and supply products based on SENKO’s SN®-MT optical connector technology.

The agreement represents another important milestone in the expansion of the SN®-MT ecosystem, enabling broader industry access to high-density optical interconnect solutions specifically designed to meet the performance, scalability, and space-efficiency requirements of modern AI clusters, hyperscale data centers, and high-performance computing environments.

As artificial intelligence workloads continue to drive unprecedented growth in network bandwidth and fiber density requirements, operators are increasingly seeking compact multi-fiber connectivity solutions capable of supporting next-generation optical architectures. The SN®-MT connector addresses these challenges through a very small form factor design that delivers exceptional port density, simplified cable management, and low insertion loss performance in space-constrained environments.

Following completion of the licensing process, Lightera is authorized to manufacture and supply SN®-MT optical connector solutions to customers worldwide, providing the market with an additional qualified source for this rapidly adopted technology.
