Optimizing LLM/ML Infrastructure Deployment with SENKO’s VSFF SN-MT® Connector

Cyber-Agent-Pres-Release June

Yokkaichi, Mie – [June 9th] – Senko Advance Co., Ltd. is pleased to announce that its next-generation Very Small Form Factor (VSFF) optical connector, the SN-MT®, has been adopted by CyberAgent, Inc. for deployment in their large language model (LLM) and machine learning (ML) infrastructure.

Enabling Next-Generation AI Infrastructure

As AI and ML applications scale, backend networks in data centers face a growing demand for fiber connectivity, traditionally achieved using MPO connectors. However, the dense interconnection between GPU servers and AI switches introduces significant space and cable management challenges.

To address these constraints, CyberAgent has adopted SENKO’s SN-MT® connector, which is 2.7 times smaller than conventional MPOs. The SN-MT® enables higher-density patch panel configurations, making it an ideal choice for AI racks where panel space is at a premium.

Despite its reduced footprint, the SN-MT® delivers equivalent insertion loss to MPO Super Low Loss, ensuring there is no compromise in optical performance. Additionally, its innovative alignment features on both the connector and adapter enhance durability and reduce pinhole damage during repeated mating and de-mating, an improvement over traditional MPO solutions.

CyberAgent Comments on the Deployment

“As part of expanding our machine learning infrastructure, we adopted SN-MT® connector patch panels for connecting GPU servers to network equipment,” said Shotaro Koshoji, CIU Network Team, Group IT Promotion Headquarters at CyberAgent, Inc.

“In our GPU cluster environments, thousands of cables must be routed from server racks to network racks. While MPO-based panels presented port density and handling limitations, switching to SN-MT® has allowed us to build higher-density patch panels and drastically improve cable management.

We plan to present this deployment at JANOG56 (https://www.janog.gr.jp/meeting/janog56/800g/), and we look forward to further developments in SN-MT® technology.”

SENKO’s Commitment to Innovation

“We are honored that CyberAgent has selected the SN-MT® for their AI data center expansion,” said Jim Hasegawa, Managing Executive Officer and President of the Optical Communications Division at SENKO.

“SN-MT® is designed to set a new benchmark for density and performance in VSFF connectivity. SENKO remains committed to product innovation and customer support as we help enable the next generation of high-performance infrastructure.”
