Summary:

The Quality Coordinator Automotive supports the Operations Department and the Sales Department by coordinating and following up all quality claims and issues reported to both departments. He or she acts as the first line of support in the Quality Department. By technical analysis in collaboration with the customer and supplier he or she coordinates the process of issue analysis, solution finding and communicating with all parties in order to close the claim quickly ensuring the satisfaction of all parties involved.

Key Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Accept quality claims (item-related and delivery-related) by acknowledgement and registration according to the standard procedures common in the automotive industry.
  • Keep all parties involved and informed about all steps and developments during the quality claim handling.
  • Organize and maintain proper traceback methods and procedures to be able to provide all relevant information about the history and origin of the product, the supplier, the production facility and all relevant technical information that can help solve the quality claim.
  • Conduct first-line analysis to determine if the quality claim can be closed without escalation to external parties.
  • In case the quality claim cannot be closed without escalation provide a thorough technical analysis with our supplier and collaborate with them in order to decide the best cost-effective solution. All steps will be reported back to the customer, and their wishes are taken into consideration when finding the solution.
  • Evaluate the party responsible for this issue and get their acknowledgement and cooperation in finding a solution for the claim. Make sure that the financial effects of the claim are in line (or are related) with the responsibility of the party for the claim. (cost control)

  • Make sure that quality related documents can be provided promptly upon request by a business partner.
  • Assist the technical information gathering and negotiation related to the OEM business.
  • Communicate technical specifications, tolerances, material choices and so on with suppliers and customers to find a specific or tailor-made solution for the OEM business.
  • Provide evidence-based quality claim throughput information, tracebacks and status reporting about all closed and pending quality claims over a certain period.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or related work experience
  • Experience in NetSuite ERP system is helpful.
  • Prior experience in distribution or logistics preferred.
