SENKO and Anritsu to Jointly Demonstrate CPO Network and Test Solution at OFC 2022

Marlborough, MA 2/28/2022 – SENKO Advanced Components, Inc. (SENKO) announced a collaboration with Anritsu Corporation (Anritsu) to demonstrate a Co-Packaged Optics (CPO) network test set up using the SN-MT connector solution at OFC 2022. The demonstration, which will take place at SENKO’s OFC booth (#3239), will be measuring the performance of 400G DR4 optics having multiple mated pairs of SN-MT connectors. CPO 3.2Tb engine is required to interoperate with eight 400G transceivers such as DR4 and FR4, according to the specification requirement document released by Co-Packaged Optics Collaboration in 2021. Using 400G DR4 transceivers, SENKO and Anritsu will demonstrate the test set up and optical connectors for CPO applications.

SN-MT is a next-generation multi-fiber connector that is developed by SENKO and announced in 2021. SN-MT carries a maximum of 16-fibers in a single row ferrule contained within a regular SN connector footprint. The panel design with SN-MT 16F improves connector density by 2.7x over MPO-16F and 1.3x over MPO-32F. It’s suitable for many applications that require high-density solutions. The SN-MT 16F can accommodate up to 3456F connection in a 1RU patch panel, where such high-density solution is perfect for a 1RU height Co-Packaged Optics (CPO) 51.2T switch. By using 64x SN-MT 16F (1024F) on the top of the face plate, sufficient space could still be allocated for External Laser Sources (ELS).

The Anritsu Network Master™ Pro MT1040A, which is a portable B5-size 400G tester and the BERTWave™ MP2110A, an all-in-one solution with built-in 4-channel sampling oscilloscope and BERT, will be part of the demonstration. The MT1040A supports speeds from 10mbps to 400Gbps with direct QSFP-DD or OSFP modules. It has been developed based on advanced technologies and Anritsu’s experience in various network measurements to meet customers’ needs in high-speed interfaces, optical/IP data communications, high-frequency signals, and Protocol/RF testing. BERTWave is an ideal solution for BER measurements and NRZ/PAM4 eye pattern analyses of 25G/100G/200G/400G/800G optical modules and devices.

SN-MT-Anritsu-Joint-Demo

“Our joint demonstration with SENKO will highlight 400G interconnects and networking. Both Anritsu and SENKO have been at the forefront of advancing technologies and it is a natural collaboration of market leaders,” said Hiroyuki Takahashi, GM of Service Infrastructure & Solution Div., Anritsu. “We will keep contributing to the practical application of the technology innovation, CPO, together by providing solutions for the device testing as well as the network testing.”

“Anritsu is one of the leading companies in the fiber optic network test equipment, and we are pleased to be working with them” said Jim Hasegawa, Executive Vice President of SENKO. “With this joint demonstration with Anritsu, we can leverage our expertise and hope to accelerate the adoption of CPO in the industry.”
